1.    Setup TV cables boxes to WAD

Locate the RCA audio output terminals of the TV cable boxes, such as Direct TV boxes or Dish Satellite boxes. Using RCA cables, connect the RCA audio output terminals of the TV cable boxes to the RCA audio input terminals of the WAD-104. You may need some RCA splitter cables if the RCA audio output terminals of the TV cable boxes are already occupied. Using the splitters, you can maintain the existing connections while making new connects from the output terminals of the TV cable boxes to the WAD-110/120/104.

The input terminals of the WAD-104 are marked 1 - 4 indicating the audio channels that will be displayed in the smartphones or tablets through the Apps. In the case of 8 TVs with mono channels, the input terminals in the sequence of 1R, 1L, 2R, 2L,... 4R, 4L will be displayed as the channels 1 - 8 in the smartphones or tablets. Keeping a good order of the input terminals will help in the future management of the audio channels. Please note that not all input terminals may be used when the number of the audio sources is less than the maximum.  Similarly for WAD-110/120 connect the audio output terminals of the TV cable boxes to the ADC. Up to 10 TV cable boxes with stereo sound can be connected to ADC-10, and up to 20 TV cable boxes can be connected to the ADC-20.

For TV cable boxes with digital audio outputs only, such as HDMI or DIVX, please call 747-220-0120 ext.3 or email to sales@cinet.com for assistance.

2.    How to connect Direct TV DECA Broadband Connector

The Direct TV DECA Broadband connector is a component needed to connect the WAD-110/120/104 server to Direct TV Satellite Box in order to obtain the metadata of channel and program names of the TV station that is currently playing on the box. It is essential to the Auto Channel Naming service of the WAD.

The DECA Broadband connector comes from the SWIM splitter of the Direct TV satellite dish using a coaxial cable and connects to the Switch using a LAN cable. The connection is same for both NON-POE and POE routers.

Note that one DECA Broadband connector can handle multiple Direct TV satellite boxes as long as they come from the same satellite dish. For more detail on the DECA Broadband connector and the SWIM, go to the Auto Channel Naming service in www.cinet.com.

The DECA Broadband connector can connect to the satellite TV system in many different ways. Here we show a simple way of using STD-9501M that can apply as long as there is a single satellite dish and a single coaxial cable coming in from the dish.

3.    How to input the Direct TV IP addresses for Auto Channel Naming

If the audio channel is connected a Direct TV satellite box, you can input the IP address of the channel in the DIRECT TV page and let the names of the channel and program automatically fill in. This service requires the DECA broadband connector as shown in Section 1.5 above. As for the IP address, it can be found in the TV by going to Menu > Settings & Help > Settings > Network Setup > Network Services. There the IP address will be displayed. Sometimes the IP address shown can be wrong or incorrect. To correct the false IP address, go to Menu > Settings & Help > Settings > Network Setup > Restore Defaults. After the restoring the default, repeat the step above to find the IP address and input it into the Direct TV page of the console App.

Input the IP addresses in the DIRECT TV page and press the Apply button. The message "Updated server information successfully" will appear to confirm your input.
