How to daisy-chain up to 4 x WAD-104 units

1. Upgrade the WAD-104 units to the latest firmware (v1.4.2 or higher). For instruction on how to upgrade and where to find the latest firmware, go to /faq/index.php?action=artikel&cat=3&id=15&artlang=en

2. Open the top cover of the WAD-104 units. Find the J1 pin setting on the main board.

3. Set the pins as below for WAD-104 units. The Cluster number indicates the daisy-chained WAD-104 units.

4. Having changed the pin settings, connect the WAD-104 units (with their top covers put back) to a switch. For example, the WAD-104 units will connect to a switch port 1, 2, 3, and 4.

5. Connect a router to the switch, for example, into the port 5.

6. Next prepare a PC (nanoPC, miniPC, etc.) with a network ethernet port. For example, we use a Foxconn nanoPC with 8G RAM and 32G HD.

7. Load the PC with the OS "wadsbc-live-2016-08-14-22-img.iso". First use the Universal-USB-Installer (UUI) program to unzip the .iso file into a USB flash drive. Next start the PC with the flash drive as the bootup device which will install the Ubuntu Linux OS into the PC. Be warned that the new OS will reformat the hard drive inside the PC.

8. Connect the PC to the switch using a LAN cable.

9. Power on the WAD-104 units, PC, switch, and the router.

10. Connect the WAD Console app to the router. You will see a new WAD Server name and setting of the daisy-chained WAD-104 units. Select your option for mono or stereo mode, channel names, etc.
