How to connect a WAD server to an existing network

For WAD-110 and 120 that were produced before December 2016, the connecting the WAD server to an existing network requires a patch attached. To insert this patch into the WAD server, please follow the instruction below.

Copy the attached wadcaster.ksp file into a USB flash drive.

Connect a monitor and keyboard to the WAD server. The monitor connection is HDMI for the WAD server. The keyboard can be connected using any USB port on the back panel of the WAD server (For WAD-120, you can take out a USB connection from the ADC-20 and connect the keyboard instead).

Turn on the WAD-110. After complete boot up, the monitor will show

  • wadsr login:

Press CTL + ALT + F2 and the prompt will change to

  • root@wadsvr:/#

Connect the USB flash drive to the WAD server (For the WAD-120, you can take out a USB connection from the ADC-20 and connect the flash drive instead). You will see 4 – 5 lines of garbage on the monitor. Press Enter for the prompt.

Type in the following commands to mount the flash drive and copy the file (Please watch out for the spaces when typing).

  • mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt
  • killall ccastd
  • killall wadcaster
  • cp /mnt/wadcaster.ksp /var/wad

Remove the flash drive and keyboard. Reboot the WAD server and it is done.
